Mooloolaba is one of the closer beaches to Brissy, we can drive there in under an hour, which is good because it’s my favourite beach that we’ve been to.

Mooloolaba is a small coastal town with a main esplanade right on the beach. All the cafés and restaurants along here have amazing views of the water. Famous for it’s sea food, we’ve had some pretty amazing fish and chips here.

The beach is long, not too busy, clean, white sand and gorgeous water. If you head further round the bay the beach is slightly more protected so less waves which I personally prefer, having been dumped a few times in the waves on the main beach!

Food and drink wise you can’t go far wrong. Raw energy is a small cafe along the main esplanade which makes all sorts of yummy healthy dishes. We went for breakfast and had awesome fresh juices, eggs on toast, and a delicious energy bowl which consisted of muesli, yoghurt, LSA, honey and lots of fresh fruit. Totally yummo.

The surf club is another good spot, right on main beach the views are beautiful and the food was pretty tasty too! Be aware you can’t wear singlets in there even in the day or they make you purchase a T-shirt with sleeves, we learnt that the hard way!

If you drive a few minutes down past the esplanade you will arrive in the nearest big town called Maroochydore. We went for dinner there one night and it was great – restaurant called Ba Vego. Tapas joint on the seafront, we pretty much sampled the whole menu and a whole lot of sangria and I highly recommend.

The esplanade is always fairly busy and is nice to stroll around at night, maybe stopping for some ice cream if you feel the need – obviously I did!

I think the photos of this place speak for themselves.
