At a loose end, me and T decided to drive over to new farm and explore the area.
We started with lunch at Pablo, a popular cafe in new farm. I had a banana smoothie and their Savoury mince slow cooked with chorizo, Barossa smoked bacon, cherry tomatoes & baby spinach. Served with sourdough toast, herbed crème fraiche, free range fried egg & lemon. I’m a sucker for breakfast at lunch time (or any time to be honest). It was delicious.
T had their toasted brioche burger of shredded citrus chicken, avocado, melted brie, & spiced cherry jam. Served with a mint, fennel, cucumber & crème fraiche salad. He said it was ok but maybe a bit too sweet.
After stuffing ourselves we wandered over to new farm park and parked ourselves on a bench looking out at the river. After a while spent playing which house would you choose if you were rich, we decided to hire a couple of the city cycles and go for a pedal.
Starting at new farm park you can cycle along the river on a board walk and the views are beautiful. We went as far as Tenerrife and then slowly pedalled back taking in all the sights.
We finished off the day with a large glass of vino at the powerhouse which is just next to the park. what a way to spend a sunny day in Brisbane!
