On Sunday we decided to drive half an hour or so to spend the day in Redcliffe.
Each Sunday they have a big market on in the main street along the seafront. We wandered around taking in the sights and smells in the sunshine. We picked up some delicious iced tea, and some oozingly cheesy turkish bread, and found a nice spot overlooking the ocean to sit and munch. Not the healthiest snack but oh my it was gorgeous!
Once we’d licked our plates clean, we tried to walk off some of the calories by going for a stroll along the pier. You can see over to Moreton Island from the pier and the views were pretty stunning. There were lots of kids jumping off the end of the pier, and lots of people fishing off the side, clearly a popular spot.
Feeling a bit hot and bothered we walked down to the lagoon to cool off. As it was a Sunday it was quite busy, but we found a spot for our towels no problem. The water was cold and refreshing despite being deafened by all the screaming kids!
Once we’d had enough sun we walked back into town and found a table at one of the cafe’s along the main street. Rejuvenated after a juice and a cheeky brownie, we set off home to have some drinks on the balcony in the afternoon sun. Such a chilled fun Sunday, we really liked Redcliffe and will be back soon!
