Playing House

One of the downsides about moving countries is that you can’t take much with you. This means you end up with a lovely new house and absolutely nothing to put in it. If you move in your home country you usually end up being given the odd bit of furniture here and there and only have to spend money on odds and ends, but oh no, not for us.

We have had to buy absolutely everything new, and on a very tight budget. Invariably this led us on multiple trips to ikea (hell on earth) and to us spending our weekends trying to find a sofa that wasn’t as cheap as ikea but didn’t cost $4k plus. Not an easy feat!

Here are some snaps of our progress so far:

T has banned me from buying anything else white haha. Everything we have bought is from Ikea, Fantastic Furniture, and places like KMart and Target for the accessories.
