Here are some new beauty bits and pieces that I have picked up recently!
I saw Zoella recommended this Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Oil on one of her recent favourites videos, and I am a fan of anything oil-based, so I thought I’d give it a try. Usually I’m guilty of removing my makeup using cleansing wipes, but I am very aware of pulling at the skin around my eyes. With this oil , you just rub it straight onto dry skin and it will budge all make-up, even stubborn mascara (and without scrubbing at your eyes), then rinse off with water. So far I’m loving it, and the lovely packaging is an added bonus.
One of my best friends recommended the Clinique Moisture Surge Melting Mask as I have very dry skin. I like it, but even when I slather it all over my face and sleep in it, my skin is still quite dehydrated in the morning. However I had a cold recently, and it was really good for spot treating little areas of dryness on the face.
I had never heard of Inglot until I heard lots of beauty you-tubers mentioning it in their videos. So when I noticed our local mall had an Inglot store, I went to investigate. I picked up these beautiful eye products. On the left we have two Pure Pigment eyeshadows in the colours 84 (goldy green) and 24 (coppery glitter). The colours are incredible, and the glittery formula is perfect for a night out. I also got the Freedom System Palette in the colour Rainbow – a trio of lovely burnt orange colours which really complement blue eyes.
Inglot had a huge range of eyeshadows, and you can create your own Z palette, so I’m sure I’ll be picking up more in future.
Curtis Collection is an Australian brand which I discovered through Instagram. The stunning @cestvogue frequently posts about this brand, and listed some of her staple products. Naturally, I had to go and buy them to see if they would magically make me look like her.
They didn’t, but they are great! First I got the Lip Velvet in the colour Pink Truffle. This is a liquid lipstick type formula, has very pigmented colour, and isn’t drying on the lips.
Next we have the Radiant Glow Illuminator. I have been using this as an illuminating base for my make-up, but could also be mixed with foundation, or used over your base as a highlight. I’m not convinced it makes any difference when used as a base, but it gives a nice glow when mixed with your foundation. It’s light and non-sticky and overall I really like it.
Last up we have the Baked Illuminating Bronzer in Sun Goddess. Now this is a shimmery bronzer, but don’t let that put you off! It gives a beautiful light illuminated shimmer, rather than an obvious glitter. It’s not a dark colour, so when swept over your base, gives a really nice bronzed glow, not orangey at all.
A few other little bits:
Benefit Roller Lash Mascara – I didn’t like this at first, but has grown on me. Excellent for separation of lashes.
Clinique Chubby Stick in Curvy Contour – My first cream contour product and I love it. Really easy to apply and blend out. Gives a natural contour.
Essie Nail Polish in Angora Cardi – Such a nice purply plum shade for Autumn/Winter, I think it looks really sophisticated.
Mac Lipstick in Twig – A nice nudey/berry/autumn colour! Great description huh
Mac Lipliner in Spice – I’m a lot late on the bandwagon here, bought it just due to how many people rave about it. A good brown/nudey lip pencil which goes with pretty much any nude lip colour. I feel very 90’s when I use it!
I hope you enjoyed seeing all my latest purchases, are there any must-have beauty recommendations that you want to share?
