Rick Shores

The weather has now started getting a lot warmer, and this Saturday was a balmy 32 degrees. When it’s hot in Brisbane, the beach is the only place to go.

So we (along with the population of Brisbane) drove down the coast for lunch at Burleigh. Just past the Gold Coast, it was our first visit, but we will definitely be returning to do one of walking paths around the headlands.

We had booked a table at the popular beachside Asian fusion restaurant Rick Shores – booking is essential on weekends. What. A. View. Worth the journey for that alone.

We started with prosecco as per, and ordered some little nibbles to share.

Szechuan snapper bao (yass), teriyaki mushroom taco, and the epic fried moreton bay bug roll – so good we had to order a second round!

Chicken popcorn – hot, spicy, tasty.

Then we had the yellow king prawn curry and jasmine rice to share, followed by the black Sesame pavlova with green tea ice cream.

The food was good, especially the starters, the wine was excellent, and the view to die for. We look forward to returning again soon!
