I didn’t think I had bought much new make-up lately, but clearly I’m in denial about the amount of shopping that I do, because these beauties somehow snuck their way into my make-up bag!
First up, I bought my first Make Up Geek (MUG) palette after seeing them featured on so many beauty youtube videos, and I was not disappointed. I bought the Autumn Glow eyeshadow bundle along with a blending brush and the travel palette.
I love warm toned eye shadows, especially with blue eyes I just think it makes them pop. This bundle was a good mix of matte transition colours and chunky metallics, great for full glam looks. I really like the consistency of the shadows, they are super blendable, and for the price very good value. The blending brush is ok, but I’m not blown away.
Another “Youtube made me do it” purchase was the Anastasia Beverley Hills moon child highlighter palette.
As you can see already, I mainly purchased it for the beautiful pink shade “Pink Heart” which is very wearable for an every-day look. The other colours, whilst beautiful, are a bit out there, and will probably only be used for a night time glam look, rather than to wear to work! Overall I really like this palette and love having a good selection of different highlights.
I also bought my first Anastasia liquid lipstick, thought it would be rude not to seeing as I was already on the website…
I was going to buy stripped but was worried it would be too nude, so I went for the shade “Crush” instead after googling colour swatches haha! I do really love this colour and the formula is amazing, but it’s not nude on me at all, it’s quite an intense rosy pink, so I usually just use a tiny bit and blend it with a paler colour.
Confession – I am not good at drawing in my brows, in fact i’m really bloody bad at it. So to save myself the daily brow struggle I thought I’d try out Benefit’s Gimme Brow. It’s like a teeny weeny mascara for your eyebrows and i LOVE it.
It supposedly contains little fibres which grab onto your existing hairs to give a fuller look, and in my opinion it really works. It’s perfect for those weeks in-between brow tints, and is great to sweep on and go for an easy everyday look.
Another newie is the Bobbi Brown cream Eyeshadow stick in a lovely bronzey goldy brown colour. This has been my go-to eye shadow since I bought it, it’s so easy to apply, and looks like you’ve made far more effort than you actually have!
My first Burberry Beauty product is this gorgeous lipstick in the colour Military Red. I don’t wear red lippy too often, but you’ve got to have a classic red on hand when the occasion calls for it! A lovely creamy formula with intense colour pay off, I may have to try some of their other shades.
Last but not least is my humble Lanolips lip balm – going from hot to cold weather and back again has thrown my skin for a loop, especially my poor chapped lips, and this baby is the only lip balm that does the trick. Available from Boots in the UK, I highly recommend picking some up! This is in the lemon-aid flavour which I like, but I’m sure the others are great too.
And that’s it for now lovelies! I’m sure it won’t take me long to accumulate some new favourites so stay tuned. x
